Whats the difference between sewer and stormwater

Sewer is what we class as "black water" ie from showers, sinks, toilets. This is generally taken away from your property in private sewer lines which connect to the council wastewater network. Sometimes your sewer lines may also be pumped or go through a wastewater treatments system

Stormwater is generated from rain generally and is taken away from your property through downpipes and stormwater lines, normally to the council stormwater lines. Stormwater may also be caught by detention / retention tank which trickle feed to the council system. You may also have your own water tank to catch rainwater for use in the garden for example or treated through a UV filter system for household use.
